How to Make An Easter Handkerchief Wreath

I had a set of white handkerchiefs my mother had given me that were from the 1950’s both hers and my grandmothers. I decided that would be the perfect background for an Easter wreath. You can use something that means a lot to you or scrap material you may have around to create the background for your wreath.

Materials Needed:

  1. Wire wreath ring
  2. White handkerchiefs
  3. Bunny’s blue and pink from Dollar Tree
  4. String of 6 carrots from Dollar Tree
  5. 3 string eggs from Dollar Tree
  6. Sisal string from Dollar Tree

How to put together the wreath:

  1. First tie the handkerchiefs on the wire frame. The more handkerchiefs you have, the better it will fill out the wire wreath.
  2. Also cut the string carrots apart so that you can tie them on the wire frame.
  3. Next place the carrots decoratively around the wire frame and tie them to the frame.
  4. Use the sisal to cut a length of string that will thread through the string egg and use the string to fasten the egg to the wire wreath frame.
  5. Accordingly, using the sisal string, tie the bunny’s on the wire wreath.
  6. There you have an Easter Wreath

Conclusion:

Now your wreath is complete and you are ready to hang it on your front door. Not only do you have a decorative Easter Wreath but you have the old handkerchiefs displayed in such a way that you can remember those Easters long ago, dressing up with Easter bonnets and gloves and heading off to church. Mom and Grandmother had pretty handkerchiefs they carried in their purses. Always ready for wiping tears or scraps that occurred spontaneously with no notice.

When I started carrying a purse to church, I was given one of the pretty handkerchiefs to carry too. What a right of passage.

Now I know that these memories are quite old fashion…but if you think about it…all memories are. You are remembering times past…and mine were in the 1960’s, yours maybe the 1990’s but they become old fashion with time. And that is not a bad thing. Embrace your good memories and share them with your kids. They will love to know that you were once their age and what your childhood was like.

As we head off to church to celebrate Easter, remember this is the celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection and our redemption from sin. What a glorious time to be alive and knowing that Jesus paid our sin debt in full so that we can have eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you have not had the opportunity to meet Jesus, message me an I will be happy to share the wonderful experience of getting to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

Have a blessed Easter!
