Making a popsicle stick trinket box is a fun and easy project. The most time is spent letting the glue dry. It took me about 30 minutes to make the box.
Items needed:
Colored popsicle sticks
Elmer’s clear glue
Putting the frame together:
- Begin with making a square with 4 popsicle sticks.
- Next make sure parallel sides match
- Both on top, both on bottom
- Then run a length of glue down the 2 sides of the square that you are going to build the fence on.
- Remember the slats look like a miniature picket fence
- Then fit the popsicle sticks side by side till all fit to make the bottom of the box.
- These instructions will be the same for the top and bottom of the box.
- Next you are ready to make the sides of the box.
- Keep your popsicle sticks parallel to each other as you glue them one at a time around the edges of the square bottom.
- Put one dot of glue on each of the four corners and keep the sides straight as you build the walls.
- Keep building the side walls until the box is the desired height.
- Now let the box and lid sit for 24 hours to be sure it is completely dry.
The trinket box is complete and ready for your keepsakes or could be used as an Easter basket.
