Where Can You Find Vintage Patterns?

Often styles from 50’s 60’s 70’s 80’s and even 90’s are patterns you may want to find. Many styles repeat themselves over time but finding the original patterns is a real coo. Both children’s styles and women’s are worth finding. There are some great sun tops that you can not find anymore as well as dresses and jumpers for kids.

What Sewing Machine Is Good For All Types Of Material?

I have found that the Singer Heavy Duty 4452 with 110 stitch applications is a very good machine for all types of material. My thought is to pick the heaviest duty machine that will also accommodate lace fabric. This way you have the heavy duty for leather and jean and upholstery material but you also have a machine that can aid in your daintier sewing projects like lace and satin and chiffon. This machine also makes button holes and does not need a lot of accessories to sew just about any project you could think of. 

Things To Think About When Modifying A Pattern

One thing you need to check when you use a pattern is that the size you have chosen actually will fit you. There seem to be some irregularities in patterns. Such as it may accommodate the width of the pattern but a little thing like the neck, it doesn’t fit. Or if you are making an apron, the ties for the neck have not been calculated to aid the different neck sizes.
