Are there things with sewing that you have questions about? Have you ever had your thread bunch up on the back side of a garment? Have you tried to sew two fabrics together that slide away from each other? Did you know there is a right way to thread metallic thread in a sewing machine? These are a few of the questions that I will answer in this article.
Have you ever had your thread bunch up on the back of your garment?
- Often you think that the tension on your machine is off. But what if it was as simple as having a dull needle. Perhaps the needle may be for the wrong material. Changing the needle could solve what you think might be a bobbin problem.
Try changing the needle and see if a new needle doesn’t solve this problem.

2. Have you heard of spray adhesive? It can be sprayed on the right sides of the fabric and stick the fabric together. Then sew the two pieces together with ease. Now throw the sewn fabric in the washer and when it comes out of the laundry the adhesive is washed out. Then you can turn the fabric right side out and the adhesive is gone.

3. Next you need to use a vertical spindle on your sewing machine. If your sewing machine does not have a vertical spindle, then there are aftermarket vertical spindles that can be placed on or beside your machine. The metallic thread requires a vertical feed for best results. Additionally, make sure the size of the needle allows the thread to easily slide through the eye of the needle.
